Juli Kirk Kadoage Plate – Multicolor Oxides & White Glaze (9”)

This square kadoage plate by Juli Kirk is hand-built and low-fired in an electric kiln. One corner lifts slightly—inviting a sense of asymmetry and movement. The surface is built up with underglazes, copper carbonate, cobalt oxide, and rutile oxide, accented with fine clay pencil markings and finished in a translucent white glaze. The palette is soft but vibrant, with earthy reds, blues, and greens showing through the veil of glaze. Measuring 9 x 9 inches with a 1.25-inch lift, it’s perfect for cheese, sweets, or seasonal small plates.

Food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe.

Juli Kirk による角上げの角皿。手づくりで成形され、電気窯で低火度焼成されています。一隅がわずかに持ち上がる「角上げ」のかたちは、静かな動きと緊張感を器に与えます。表面には下絵具、銅炭酸塩、コバルト酸化物、ルチル酸化物、粘土鉛筆による線描が重なり、白釉でふんわりと覆われています。赤、青、緑などの色が淡く透け、穏やかながらも彩り豊かな印象に。一辺約23cm、角の高さ約3.2cm。チーズや和菓子、前菜にぴったりの器です。
