Guy Matsuda Large Round Vase – 8” Unglazed, Wood-Fired

A beautifully rounded form by Guy Matsuda, wheel thrown from stoneware and wood and salt fired without glaze. The surface is marked with vertical chatter lines that catch the light and draw the eye, shifting in tone from pale ash to soft flame-blushed earth. At 8” tall and 6” in diameter, it feels grounded and expansive—well-suited for generous floral arrangements or sculptural display.

Guy Matsudaによる、大らかな丸みをもつ花器。釉薬を使わずに薪と塩で焼成され、縦に刻まれたチャターマークが光を捉えて揺らぎを生み出します。灰がかったベージュから温かみのある炎の痕跡まで、自然の力が作り出した色のグラデーションも魅力です。高さ約20cm、直径約15cm。花をたっぷり生けても、オブジェとしてそのまま飾っても美しく映えます。
