Juli Kirk Round Vase – Layered Slip & Carved Markings

This round vase by Juli Kirk is wheel-thrown, altered, and fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln. The surface is built from layered slips and printed textures, with fine carvings and scratchmarks that reveal movement and memory across the form. At 8 inches tall and wide, with a 3.75” mouth and 2.5” foot, the vase balances mass with openness—ideal for full arrangements or to stand alone as a quiet sculptural object.

Juli Kirk による丸壺。ろくろで成形された後にかたちを加え、電気窯でコン6まで焼成されています。表面には幾層にも重ねられたスリップと版模様が施され、そこに彫りやひっかき傷が加えられることで、動きと記憶のようなものが立ち上がります。高さ・幅ともに約20cm、口径約9.5cm、高台約6.5cm。たっぷりとした花も映える一方、そのままでも静かな彫刻的存在感を放つ壺です。
