Peter Dellert Wheel-Thrown Stoneware Tea Cup

These wheel-thrown stoneware tea cups by Peter Dellert are finished in a soft ivory surface, with loose brown and blue brushwork moving around the upper half of each cup. The painted marks vary from piece to piece, sometimes appearing as sweeping lines, sometimes as denser, more layered gestures, so the six cups clearly belong together without being identical.

The form is slightly tapered, narrowing toward the base, with subtle throwing lines still visible along the lower half. Gas fired, each cup has small variations in surface, shape, and brushwork that reflect the making process.

Peter Dellertによる、ろくろ成形のストーンウェアのティーカップです。やわらかなアイボリー色の表面に、茶と青の筆跡が上部をめぐるように施されています。筆の動きは一点ごとに異なり、伸びやかな線として現れるものもあれば、重なりのある濃い表情を見せるものもあります。6点はいずれも同じシリーズですが、それぞれに異なる表情があります。

下部にはろくろ目がほのかに残り、底に向かって少しすぼまる形です。ガス窯で焼成されており、表面や形、筆跡には制作によるわずかな違いがあります。
