Brandon Hale Robin's Egg Blue Kyusu Teapot

This small kyusu teapot by Brandon Hale has a rounded body, short pouring spout, and distinctive side handle. Wheel-thrown from wild clay and electric-fired, it is finished in a soft robin's egg blue glaze with fine crackling and subtle variations in color.

Inside is a carefully made, integrated spherical filter, also formed from wild clay, for brewing loose-leaf tea. The fitted lid has a rounded knob and a small vent hole. Compact and comfortably proportioned, the teapot brings together thoughtful construction and an inviting form.

Brandon Haleによる、小ぶりな横手急須です。丸みのある胴に短い注ぎ口と横手の持ち手を組み合わせた形が特徴です。自然採取の土をろくろで成形し、柔らかなロビンズエッグブルーの釉薬を施して電気窯で焼成しています。淡い青色の釉肌には細かな貫入が入り、微妙な色の濃淡が見られます。

内部には、同じ自然採取の土で丁寧につくられた球状の一体型茶こしが備わっており、茶葉を使ってお茶を淹れることができます。蓋には丸いつまみと小さな空気穴があり、コンパクトな形の中に細やかな工夫が感じられます。

自然採取の粘土、ろくろ成形、ロビンズエッグブルー釉、電気窯焼成。陶製の一体型茶こし付き。

サイズ：高さ約5.7cm × 胴径約8.3cm（持ち手と注ぎ口を除く）。
