Guy Matsuda Large Gas-Fired Vase

Wheel-thrown by Guy Matsuda, these large gas-fired stoneware vases have tall, open forms with gently tapering sides. Available in three distinctive glaze combinations: green teadust, with a softly mottled olive-green surface and fine dark speckling; dark blue celadon, with a glossy midnight-blue upper surface that gradually shifts toward smoky blue-gray below; and pale celadon, with a softly luminous, blue-green exterior and a striking oxblood interior in deep burgundy and purple tones. The celadon and oxblood version has a wider, more flared opening, revealing the rich color within. Each vase offers a different interplay of form, color, and surface. Their generous openings make them well suited to arrangements of branches, grasses, or seasonal flowers, while their simple forms are equally appealing on their own.

Green teadust and dark blue celadon: Approximately 7.5" high × 4.5" rim diameter × 4" base diameter.

Celadon with oxblood interior: Approximately 8" high × 6" rim diameter × 3.5" base diameter.

ガイ・マツダがろくろで成形し、ガス窯で焼成した大きめの炻器製花器。背の高いすっきりとした形で、側面はゆるやかにすぼまっています。釉薬の組み合わせは3種類。オリーブグリーンの表面に細かな黒い斑点が広がるグリーン・ティーダスト釉。上部の深いミッドナイトブルーから下部の落ち着いた青灰色へと移り変わる、光沢のある濃青の青磁釉。そして、やわらかく光を受ける淡い青緑色の青磁釉を外側に施し、内側には深いワインレッドや紫色の辰砂釉を組み合わせた仕上げです。青磁と辰砂の花器は口が大きく開いており、内側の豊かな色合いが際立ちます。それぞれに形、色、表面の質感の異なる魅力があります。広い口元は枝ものや草花、季節の花を生けるのに適しており、何も生けずにそのまま飾っても楽しめます。
