Hiroshi Nakayama Sculptural Tile #7 – Twilight Glow Glaze

A softly swelling, curved form emerges from the surface of this small sculptural stoneware tile by Hiroshi Nakayama. Its two rounded portions seem to flow into one another, creating a subtle sense of movement within the square composition. Small indentations, scattered dark speckles, and impressed details in opposite corners add texture and variation to the otherwise smooth, expansive surfaces.

The tile is finished with Nakayama's distinctive Twilight Glow glaze. Depending on the lighting and viewing angle, its metallic surface shifts among deep blue, violet, green, silvery gray, and reddish bronze. Highlights move across the rounded relief, while darker areas accentuate its contours.

Nakayama developed Twilight Glow to produce changing colors through light interference in the glaze's outermost layer. The effect varies with the light source, its intensity, and the position of the viewer.

Display: May be displayed upright on a suitable stand. Indirect natural light is ideal for revealing the glaze's shifting colors. Alternatively, use lighting with a color temperature of 5,000K or higher.

Care: Fingerprints may be removed with alcohol. For more thorough cleaning, gently scrub with a soft brush and mild detergent, rinse with water, and allow to air dry.

表面には、Nakayama独自の「Twilight Glow」釉薬が施されています。光の当たり方や見る角度によって、深い青、紫、緑、銀灰色、赤みを帯びた銅色など、さまざまな色彩が現れます。丸みを帯びたレリーフの上を光が移ろい、暗い部分がその輪郭を際立たせています。

「Twilight Glow」は、釉薬の最表層で起こる光の干渉によって色彩が変化するよう、Nakayamaが開発した釉薬です。光源や光の強さ、見る位置によって異なる表情を楽しむことができます。

お手入れ： 指紋はアルコールで拭き取ることができます。汚れが気になる場合は、柔らかいブラシと中性洗剤で優しく洗い、水ですすいで自然乾燥させてください。
