Silene DeCiucies Large Round Wood-Fired Vase

This large round vase by Silene DeCiucies balances softness and structure through its generous form and carefully articulated surface. Wheel thrown in stoneware and wood fired, the vessel is finished with a kaolin slip and feldspar wash that create subtle tonal shifts across the pale matte surface. Fine incised patterns emerge and recede in the light, giving the piece a quiet rhythmic texture.

Ash deposits, flashing, and variations from the firing deepen the sense of movement across the rounded body, while the broad opening makes it especially well suited for branches or fuller arrangements. The piece feels both ancient and contemporary—grounded, spacious, and quietly luminous.

シレーヌ・デシウシーズによる丸みのある大型花器。ゆったりとした量感のあるフォルムに、薪窯焼成による柔らかな焼けや灰の景色が重なり、静かで奥行きのある表情を生み出しています。カオリン化粧土と長石ウォッシュによる淡い白の層の上には、繊細な刻線模様が浮かび上がり、光によってさまざまな表情を見せます。

枝物やボリュームのある草花とも相性が良く、そのままでも彫刻的な存在感を楽しめる作品です。古陶を思わせる素朴さと現代的な静けさが共存しています。
