Tall and quietly elegant, this cylinder vase by Andy Vlock celebrates the expressive beauty of atmospheric wood firing. Made from red clay, the form is coated in white slip before receiving layers of ash glaze, including an elm ash glaze that melts softly across the surface. The wood firing leaves subtle traces of flame and ash, creating gentle shifts in tone, delicate flashes of warm earth beneath creamy whites, and a surface that feels both refined and deeply connected to the firing process. Its slender proportions make it especially well suited to branches, grasses, or a single stem, while its sculptural simplicity allows it to stand beautifully on its own.
Dimensions: 10.5”H × 3”D.
