Andy Vlock Handbuilt Wild Clay Tea Cup – White Slip & Ash Glaze

Handbuilt from red wild clay, this tea cup by Andy Vlock has a broad, slightly irregular rim and a rounded body that draws inward toward a narrow foot. White slip gives the surface its soft, pale tone while leaving the texture and occasional specks of the clay visible beneath.

An ash glaze and wood firing bring darker variation to the rim and warmer flashes of exposed clay around the base. The interior is pale and lightly varied, while the exterior retains the marks and subtle unevenness of hand construction. No two cups are exactly alike in form or firing.

Approx. 3.5" H × 4" D at rim × 1.25" D at base. Food safe. Dishwasher and microwave safe.

Andy Vlockによる、赤い野土を手作業で成形したティーカップです。やや揺らぎのある広めの口縁から、丸みのある胴が細い高台へとすぼまる形です。白化粧によるやわらかな淡色の表面には、土の質感や細かな斑点がところどころに残っています。

灰釉と薪窯焼成によって、口縁には濃い色の変化が生まれ、高台まわりには赤い土のあたたかな色合いが現れています。内側は淡い色調で、焼成による微妙な濃淡が見られます。手作業による形や薪窯で生まれる表情には一点ごとに違いがあります。
