Ayumi Nojiri Handbuilt Matcha Bowl – Gray-Blue Glaze

This handbuilt stoneware matcha bowl by Ayumi Nojiri has a full, rounded body that rises from a small foot to a gently irregular rim. Electric-fired, its gray-blue glaze carries soft variations of warm gray, pale blue, and earthy brown, revealing the subtle impressions of the hand-formed surface.

The interior holds a quieter surprise: beneath the glossy gray-blue walls, deeper pools of cobalt blue and brown gather at the bottom. The contrast becomes especially apparent as the bowl is used, offering a changing view of its richly varied surface.

Ayumi Nojiriが手成形した炻器の抹茶碗。小さな高台からふっくらと立ち上がる丸みのある胴体と、緩やかに揺らぐ口縁が特徴です。電気窯で焼成された灰青色の釉薬には、温かみのあるグレー、淡い青、土色が穏やかに混ざり合い、手成形による表面の繊細な起伏が浮かび上がります。

内側には、外側とは異なる表情が隠れています。艶やかな灰青色の内壁の底には、深い青と茶色の釉薬が溜まり、豊かな色の重なりを見せています。抹茶をいただくにつれて少しずつ現れる、変化に富んだ釉調も魅力です。
