Ayumi Nojiri Handbuilt Small Bowl – Mottled Cream Glaze

This small handbuilt stoneware bowl by Ayumi Nojiri has softly undulating walls and a gently irregular rim that gives its rounded form an almost petal-like appearance. Electric-fired, its warm cream glaze carries delicate variations of ivory, pale beige, and muted gray, revealing the subtle contours of the hand-formed clay.

Inside, the glaze gathers into a slightly cooler, blue-gray pool at the bottom, where fine mottling creates an intricate pattern. Its intimate size makes it well suited to a small serving of pickles, nuts, or sweets, while its softly shaped form invites a closer look.

Ayumi Nojiriが手成形した小ぶりな炻器の鉢。緩やかに波打つ側面と自然な起伏のある口縁が、花びらを思わせる柔らかな形を生み出しています。電気窯で焼成された温かみのあるクリーム色の釉薬には、アイボリー、淡いベージュ、落ち着いた灰色が繊細に混ざり合い、手成形ならではの起伏を引き立てています。

内側の底には、やや青みを帯びた灰色の釉薬が溜まり、細かな斑模様が複雑な表情を見せています。漬物やナッツ、小さなお菓子などを盛るのにちょうどよいサイズ。手に取ると、その柔らかな形の魅力がいっそう感じられます。
