Ayumi Nojiri Stoneware Flower Plate

This handbuilt stoneware dish by Ayumi Nojiri is shaped with a gently lobed rim that gives the shallow form the outline of a flower. The curves are soft rather than sharply defined, and the slight variation around the edge keeps the form from feeling overly regular.

A pale gray-white glaze covers the surface, with subtle speckling and faint shifts in tone that allow the concentric marks of the making process to remain visible. The shallow depth and broad open surface make it well suited to small servings, sweets, side dishes, or simply as a small plate for everyday use.

Because these are handmade, the diameter varies slightly from piece to piece.

Ayumi Nojiriによる、手びねりで成形されたストーンウェアのフラワー皿です。浅い器形の口縁にはやわらかな花びら状の起伏があり、花の輪郭を思わせる形に仕上げられています。輪郭は鋭く整えすぎず、わずかな揺らぎが器に自然な表情を与えています。

表面には淡いグレーがかった白の釉薬がかかり、細かな斑点やごくわずかな色の変化が見られます。成形の跡が同心円状に残り、静かな質感として表面に現れています。

小さな取り分け料理や菓子、副菜などに使いやすい浅めの器です。ひとつずつ手作りされているため、直径には多少の違いがあります。
