Ayumi Nojiri Wheel-Thrown Flared Bowl – Smoky Bronze

This wheel-thrown stoneware bowl by Ayumi Nojiri rises from a narrow, cylindrical base into a broad, gently flared rim. Its sweeping profile gives the bowl an unusually open, graceful form, while subtle throwing lines remain visible across the surface.

Electric-fired, the glaze has a smoky, bronze-brown appearance, with shifting tones of charcoal, warm copper, and blue-gray. A soft, metallic-looking sheen catches the light across the interior, drawing the eye toward the deeper, rounded center. Ayumi Nojiriがろくろで成形した炻器の鉢。細い円筒形の底部から、口縁に向かって大きく広がる伸びやかなフォルムが特徴です。流れるような曲線が軽やかな印象を与え、表面にはろくろの跡がかすかに残っています。

電気窯で焼成された釉薬は、煙をまとったようなブロンズ色を基調に、深い炭色、温かみのある銅色、青みがかった灰色が複雑に重なり合います。内側には金属を思わせる柔らかな光沢があり、光の当たり方によって表情が変化します。小ぶりな盛り鉢としてはもちろん、造形そのものを楽しめる器です。
