Brandon Hale Wood-Fired Katakuchi Pourer – Unglazed

$70.00

This small, wheel-thrown stoneware katakuchi by Brandon Hale has a gently rounded body and a pinched pouring spout. Left unglazed and fired for three days in a wood kiln, its exterior retains the earthy reddish-brown character of the clay, with fine throwing lines and scattered markings from the firing. Inside, natural deposits of wood ash have produced a subtly lustrous surface in smoky gray and olive tones, extending to the irregular, pale-edged rim. The contrast between the textured exterior and darker interior gives this compact vessel considerable depth. Suitable for serving sake, sauces, or dressings.
