Deb Luekens Handcut Chiyogami and Glass Heart Magnets

These heart-shaped glass magnets by Deb Luekens combine traditional Japanese paper with carefully finished glass. Each heart begins with chiyogami—decorative Japanese paper traditionally made by silkscreening patterns onto handmade washi. Deb handcuts the paper and fuses it to the surface of the glass, then attaches the glass to a magnet, creating a small, luminous object with depth and clarity.

The glass allows the color and pattern of the chiyogami to glow softly, highlighting the intricate designs and subtle textures of the paper. Each boxed set includes three heart magnets, thoughtfully composed so that the patterns relate while remaining individually distinct.

Deb Luekensによるハート型のガラスマグネットは、日本の伝統的な装飾紙である千代紙（友禅和紙）とガラスを組み合わせた作品です。作家自身が千代紙を一つひとつ手作業でカットし、ガラスの表面に融合させた後、マグネットとして仕上げています。

ガラス越しに見える千代紙の文様は、奥行きと透明感を持ち、光を受けてやわらかく輝きます。各ボックスには3つのハートマグネットが収められ、全体として調和しながらも、それぞれ異なる表情を楽しめる組み合わせとなっています。
