Guy Matsuda Wood-Fired Small Pitcher

Wheel-thrown by Guy Matsuda, this small stoneware pitcher has a softly rounded body, a gently shaped pouring lip, and a long, gracefully curved handle. Wood firing brings subtle variations in color and surface, giving each pitcher its own character. Available in three finishes: a warm, glossy shino glaze with cream and amber tones; a pale spodumene glaze with soft gray variations; and an unglazed surface with earthy colors and fine speckling. A versatile vessel for serving milk, cream, sauces, or dressings, or for holding a small arrangement of flowers.

ガイ・マツダがろくろで成形した小ぶりの炻器製ピッチャー。ふっくらと丸みを帯びた胴、注ぎやすいように形づくられた口元、優美な曲線を描く長いハンドルが特徴です。薪窯での焼成によって色合いや表面に微妙な変化が生まれ、一点ごとに異なる表情を楽しめます。仕上げは3種類。乳白色と琥珀色が混ざり合う、あたたかみのある光沢の志野釉。やわらかな灰色の変化が見られる淡いスポジュメン釉。そして、土の色合いと細かな斑点が特徴の無釉仕上げです。ミルクやクリーム、ソース、ドレッシングなどを注ぐ器として、また小さな花を生ける花器としてもお使いいただけます。
