Hiroshi Nakayama Sculptural Tile #9 – Silent Patina Glaze

Sweeping, raised curves radiate from a point just below and to the right of center in this small sculptural stoneware tile by Hiroshi Nakayama. Some extend outward in long, graceful arcs, while shorter lines branch between them, creating a lively interplay of movement and open space. The rounded ridges and subtly irregular surface give the composition a distinctly tactile quality.

The tile is finished with Nakayama's Silent Patina glaze, combining warm bronze and muted gold with areas of silver and dark gray. Mottled patches of metallic color spread across the surface, while the raised lines catch the light along their edges. The changing highlights and varied textures create an appearance reminiscent of aged, weathered metal.
