Hiroshi Nakayama Framed Sculptural Tile #6 – Twilight Glow Glaze

A series of gently raised, parallel lines travels across the lower portion of this small ceramic relief tile by Hiroshi Nakayama. One line curves upward into an open spiral, creating a sense of movement within the otherwise quiet, square composition. Subtle irregularities along the edges and small impressed details in the upper corners add texture to the restrained design.

The high-fire stoneware is finished with Nakayama's distinctive Twilight Glow glaze. Its silvery surface reveals shifting tones of pale blue, violet, and green, while the raised curves catch the light and the recessed areas appear darker. The changing colors result from light interference in the glaze's outermost layer, responding to the light source, its intensity, and the viewing angle.

The tile is mounted against a pale background within a deep black frame. The generous space surrounding the ceramic emphasizes its small scale and gives the flowing relief room to breathe.

Display: Indirect natural light is ideal for revealing the glaze's shifting colors. Alternatively, use lighting with a color temperature of 5,000K or higher.

Care: Gently dust with a soft, dry brush. Fingerprints on the ceramic surface may be removed with alcohol applied carefully to a soft cloth. Avoid getting moisture or cleaning solutions on the frame or backing.

陶板は淡い色の背景に配置され、奥行きのある黒い額に収められています。周囲にゆったりと余白を設けることで、小さな陶板の存在感と流れるようなレリーフの動きが引き立っています。

お手入れ： 柔らかい乾いたブラシで優しくほこりを取り除いてください。陶板表面の指紋は、柔らかい布に少量のアルコールを含ませて慎重に拭き取ることができます。額や台紙には水分や洗浄液が付かないようにしてください。
