Hiroshi Nakayama Sculptural Tile # 3 – Silent Patina Glaze

This sculptural stoneware tile by Hiroshi Nakayama features two rounded, swelling forms emerging from a gently tapered slab. A narrow, curving ridge rises between them, while the tile's irregular edges and small surface markings lend a more organic character to the composition. The pronounced relief gives the work a changing appearance when viewed from different angles.

The high-fire stoneware is finished with Nakayama's Silent Patina glaze, a metallic surface combining gold, bronze, silver, and muted gray. Subtle variations in color and texture create an appearance reminiscent of weathered metal, while changing light reveals different highlights across the raised and recessed surfaces.

Dimensions: 6" H × 6" W at base × 5" W at top

Display: The tile may be presented upright on a suitable display stand. Its metallic surface responds to changes in lighting and viewing angle.

Care: Gently dust with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Avoid abrasive cleaning materials.
