Silene DeCiucies Wood-Fired Stoneware Utensil Crock – Kaolin Slip

Handcrafted by Vermont potter Silene DeCiucies, this wood-fired stoneware utensil crock is wheel-thrown and finished with a kaolin slip that quietly records the atmosphere of the kiln. During firing, flame and natural ash interact with the surface, creating soft layers of grey, muted cream, and earthy tones with subtle variation throughout. The form is sturdy and grounded, offering a generous interior well suited for holding kitchen utensils, brushes, or other everyday tools, while remaining calm and sculptural in presence. Measuring approximately 5.5” high and 5.25” in diameter, it is both practical and expressive. Food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe.
