Wheel-thrown by Guy Matsuda, these wood-fired stoneware katakuchi pourers have softly rounded bodies, wide openings, and gently shaped pouring spouts. Available in two finishes: an unglazed exterior with warm sandy tones and subtle variations from the wood firing, paired with a smooth, pale dolomite-glazed interior; and a fully dolomite-glazed version with a soft ivory surface and delicate speckling. The contrast between the rounded form and the small, purposeful spout gives each piece its distinctive character. Traditionally used in Japan for pouring liquids, katakuchi are also versatile serving vessels for sauces, dressings, small side dishes, or shared portions at the table.
Approximately 3" high × 6" diameter.
Food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe.
