Brandon Hale Rice-Straw Kobachi Bowl Set of Three

This set of three kobachi bowls by Brandon Hale was fired together in a single wood and soda firing, stacked with rice straw and a touch of rice between them. Each bowl was wheel-thrown from light stoneware and left unglazed, allowing flame and ash to shape the final surfaces. As a group, they capture the subtle drama of kiln atmosphere and material transformation—one bowl bearing fire-blushed warmth, another with fine speckling, and the third with a softly textured interior. Ideal for shared meals, side dishes, or display as a sculptural trio.

この小鉢3点セットは、Brandon Hale によって制作され、一つの薪とソーダによる焼成で重ねて焼かれました。各器の間には稲わらと少量の米が挟まれ、自然の炎と灰が土の表面に豊かな表情を刻んでいます。釉薬を施さず、軽やかな陶土からろくろ成形されたこの3点は、それぞれ異なる焼成の痕跡を持ち、静かな対話を生み出します。副菜の盛り付けにはもちろん、並べて飾ることで素材と火の物語を感じられる作品です。
