Kokoro Bensenoff Cacuzza Gourd Earrings

These earrings by Kokoro Bensenoff are made from an Italian cacuzza gourd she planted, grew, harvested, and dried by hand. Shaped and polished without any stain or finish, each piece reveals the natural veining, texture, and color variation of the gourd itself—like a topographic map or sun-washed stone.

Lightweight yet sturdy, they are affixed to hypoallergenic metal posts and backed with cork. Kokoro sees the gourd as a material that holds both humor and humility—grown from earth, curved by time, and offered simply. They are beautiful not despite their irregularities, but because of them.

Available in two sizes:

• Large: approx. 2” diameter

• Medium: approx. 1.25” diameter

このイヤリングは、イタリアのカクッツァ（ヘチマの一種）を、ココロ・ベンセノフが自らの畑で種から育て、収穫し、乾燥させたものから作られています。着色や加工は一切せず、ひとつひとつ丁寧に成形し、磨き上げることで、自然な筋模様や色の揺らぎがそのまま表れています。まるで風に晒された石や地図の断片のような表情です。

驚くほど軽やかでありながら、しっかりとした存在感。金属部分はアレルギー対応のポスト型で、裏面にはコルクが貼られています。ココロにとって、カクッツァはユーモアと謙虚さをあわせ持つ素材。自然の曲線や揺らぎをそのままに、飾らずに差し出された小さなかたちです。
