Juli Kirk Oval Plate – Golden Field

Juli Kirk’s work invites touch as much as sight. In this generous oval plate, warm slips and terra sigillata draw out a muted, honeyed field—its center punctuated by a radiating burst, like a sun behind morning haze. Faint inscriptions and a delicate violet blush anchor the surface in memory and gesture, while the uneven rim, burnished with umber, reminds us of the hand and fire behind its making.

Juli works slowly, with reverence and curiosity, firing each piece multiple times in her electric kiln to bring out subtle depth and texture. This plate is one-of-a-kind.
