Brandon Hale Wood-Fired Shino Guinomi

Each of these small tea or sake cups—guinomi—was shaped by Brandon Hale from New Catawba wild stoneware clay, glazed in shino, and wood-fired with care and intensity. Held in the flame for hours, each cup emerged with its own character: subtle flashes of orange, ash-kissed textures, and spontaneous surface markings that only fire and chance can compose.

Though they share a common spirit and form, each of the six cups is slightly different. We invite you to embrace this variation as part of the beauty and ethos of wood-fired work—no two are ever exactly the same.
