Brandon Hale Summer Tea Bowl with Kintsugi Repair
Couldn't load pickup availability
A summer tea bowl by Brandon Hale, wheel thrown from wild clay and finished in the kohiki method, with multiple layers of white slip built up through dipping and pouring. The surface carries a quiet depth—softly shifting whites, subtle speckling, and the faint trace of the clay body beneath.
The form opens wide, a traditional summer proportion that allows tea to cool more quickly in warm weather. In the hand, it feels light and balanced, with a gently flared rim that invites an easy, open gesture.
A small chip along the rim has been repaired with gold, in the spirit of kintsugi. The repair sits lightly on the surface, marking a moment of break and continuation without disrupting the calm of the piece.
Well suited for tea, but equally beautiful for small servings or simply held and contemplated.
Wild clay, white slip, electric fired.
Food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe.
