Kintsugi Repaired Tea Bowl – Ayumi Nojiri

Handbuilt stoneware tea bowl by Ayumi Nojiri with a softly irregular form and gently undulating rim. The exterior features a richly textured surface in matte brown and gray tones, while the interior is finished in a quiet matte black glaze.

This bowl arrived with a crack and was carefully repaired in our studio using our in-house food-safe kintsugi technique. The golden seam traces across the surface, transforming the fracture into a luminous part of the vessel’s story—an embodiment of the Japanese aesthetic that honors repair, resilience, and the beauty of imperfection.

A distinctive Japanese tea bowl that also works beautifully for rice, yogurt, small soups, or seasonal desserts.

野尻あゆみの手びねりによる石器の茶碗。やわらかく揺らぐ縁と、自然なゆらぎのある形が魅力です。外側はマットなブラウンとグレーが混ざり合う豊かな質感、内側は静かなマットブラックの釉薬で仕上げられています。

この器は入荷時にひびがあり、当店の工房で食品対応の金継ぎによって丁寧に修復しました。金の継ぎ目が器の表面をやさしく走り、割れを隠すのではなく、新しい美しさとして生まれ変わらせています。修復を尊ぶ日本の美意識を感じられる一点です。

お茶碗としてはもちろん、ご飯、ヨーグルト、小さなスープ、季節のデザートなどにもおすすめです。
