Brandon Hale Wild Clay Serving Plate with Iron Brushwork

Handbuilt by Brandon Hale using locally sourced wild clay, this small serving plate is finished with white slip and expressive iron brushwork, then electric fired. The surface holds the softness of the slip alongside the clarity of the brush lines, where gesture and restraint meet in quiet balance.

Measuring approximately 6.5 inches long by 4.5 inches wide, the gently curved form and subtle lift at the edges make the plate well suited for serving small dishes, sweets, or seasonal accompaniments. The brushwork remains open and spontaneous, allowing each plate to read as a singular moment rather than a repeated design.

Brandon Haleによるこの小さな長方形の盛皿は、地元で採取したワイルドクレイを用い、白化粧土を施した上に鉄絵で筆致を加え、電気窯で焼成されています。やわらかな化粧土の表情と、のびやかな筆の線が重なり合い、抑制と動きが共存する静かな佇まいを生み出しています。

約16.5cm × 11.5cmのサイズで、わずかに反りのある形と立ち上がった縁が、前菜や甘味、季節の一品を盛る器として適しています。筆致は一枚ごとに異なり、同じもののない、その瞬間の表現が器に残されています。
