Guy Matsuda Green Tea Dust Vase

$55.00

The form of this wood-fired vase by Guy Matsuda rises from a rounded, grounded body into a narrow neck that opens into a gentle, flared lip. The proportions feel both classical and alive, with a quiet lift that draws the eye upward.

Glazed in a combination of tea dust (tenmoku) and natural ash, the surface moves through a rich field of olive, moss, and deep golden brown. The transition between glazes gathers around the shoulder, where subtle pooling and atmospheric variation create depth and softness. Near the rim, warmer tones emerge—burnished amber and copper-like hues that suggest the intensity of flame in the kiln.

The glaze surface is smooth yet varied, with fine speckling and quiet shifts in tone that reveal the interaction of material and fire. The interior is fully glazed, making it suitable for holding water and fresh flowers, while its form also lends itself to a simple, single-stem arrangement.

A piece that holds both presence and restraint—equally at home as a vessel for flowers or as a solitary object in space.

Food safe, microwave safe, dishwasher safe.
