Brandon Hale Tall Katakuchi

Hand- and wheel-formed from wild clay, this tall katakuchi pourer by Brandon Hale reflects his ongoing exploration of atmospheric surface effects achieved in an electric kiln. The piece is saggar fired with charcoal and wood ash, producing subtle flashes of gray, blue, and earthy warmth across the exterior.

The interior is finished with a copper liner glaze, creating a dark, reflective surface well suited to pouring sake, sauces, or other liquids. A softly shaped spout and compact, upright form make the pourer comfortable to use while retaining a quiet sculptural presence.
