Brandon Hale Wild Clay Pasta Bowl

Wheel-thrown pasta bowl by Brandon Hale made from wild clay and finished with white slip and a clear glaze in an electric firing.

The bowl has a wide, gently sloping form with a shallow well, making it especially well suited for pasta, noodles, risotto, composed salads, or vegetable dishes. A small foot lifts the form slightly from the table, giving the piece a quiet sense of balance and lightness.

The surface reveals the natural character of the wild clay beneath the white slip, with subtle speckling and soft tonal variation showing through the translucent glaze. Throwing lines remain visible beneath the glaze, emphasizing the handmade process and the movement of the clay on the wheel.

The result is a bowl that feels both refined and earthy—simple, functional, and quietly expressive.

広くゆるやかに広がる浅い形で、パスタ、麺料理、リゾット、サラダ、野菜料理などにとても使いやすい器です。小さな高台が器をわずかに持ち上げ、軽やかで安定した印象を与えています。

白いスリップの下からは、野生の粘土特有の細かな斑点や自然な色調の変化がうっすらと現れます。釉薬の下にはろくろ目も感じられ、手仕事の動きと素材の表情がそのまま伝わってきます。

素朴さと洗練が同居する、日常の食卓に自然と馴染む器です。
