Juli Kirk Saggar-Fired Medium Bowl

This medium bowl by Juli Kirk carries the atmospheric markings created through the artist’s saggar-firing process. The gently flaring form and subtly irregular rim give the vessel a quiet, sculptural presence, while the surface reveals layered traces of the firing: terra sigillata, liquid quartz, and soft carbonized tones produced in the kiln. A delicate gold wax line moves across the interior surface, adding a quiet moment of warmth against the smoky grays and soft whites.

Saggar-fired twice, the bowl develops organic transitions of color and texture that make each piece unique, with surfaces that feel both refined and elemental.

A versatile everyday bowl, it works beautifully for rice, soup, grain bowls, or small salads while also standing comfortably on its own as a contemplative object.

Juli Kirkによるサガー焼成のミディアムボウル。ゆるやかに開く形とわずかに不規則な縁が、静かな彫刻的存在感を生み出しています。表面にはテラ・シジラータやリキッドクォーツ、焼成によって生まれた炭化の表情が重なり、煙のようなグレーと柔らかな白の移ろいが現れています。内側には金色のワックスによる細いラインが走り、落ち着いた色調の中にさりげない温かみを添えています。

二度のサガー焼成によって生まれる自然な色の変化と質感が、それぞれの器に独自の表情を与えています。

ご飯やスープ、グレインボウル、小さめのサラダなどに使いやすいサイズで、器そのものの存在感も楽しめる一品です。
