Brandon Hale Anagama Fired Vase or Pourer

This anagama-fired piece by Brandon Hale straddles vessel and sculpture. Thrown from stoneware and left unglazed on the exterior, it was placed deep in the fire path of the anagama kiln, where ash and flame built up a natural skin of warm ochre, russet, and pale gray. Inside, a celadon glaze pools quietly—hinting at use, inviting touch.

Whether used as a small vase, pourer, or simply admired as an object, it holds the essence of time, heat, and clay in its gently swelling form.

ブランダン・ヘイルが薪窯（穴窯）で焼成したこの器は、花器にも注器にもなるような佇まいを持っています。外側は無釉のまま薪と灰をまとい、黄土色から赤褐色、灰白色へと自然の表情が刻まれています。内側には青磁釉が溜まり、やさしく艶めいています。

花を一輪活けても、酒や茶を注いでも、ただ眺めていても、美しさと静けさをたたえています。炎と時間と土の記憶を宿した一品です。
