Brandon Hale Pebbled Serving Tray

Handmade by Brandon Hale, this pebbled serving tray is formed from wild clay and shaped through extrusion and carving. A black slip and wood ash interact during electric firing, creating a softly reduced surface with layered gray-blue tones and a quiet, earthen depth.

The interior is patterned with a field of thumb-pressed impressions—small, rounded dimples that give the tray both visual rhythm and a tactile presence. The gently lifted sides frame the surface, making it well suited for serving while also inviting use as a composed resting place.

Brandon has been exploring ways to achieve reduction-like effects in an electric kiln during a period without access to wood or gas firing. This piece reflects that ongoing investigation, balancing deliberate texture with atmospheric variation from the firing.

Ideal for small dishes, condiments, sweets, or paired cups, and equally at home holding incense, jewelry, or everyday objects.

野生粘土（wild clay）を押し出して成形し、彫りを加えた後、黒いスリップと木灰を施して電気窯で焼成。灰とスリップが反応し、落ち着いた灰青色から炭のような濃淡まで、奥行きのある表情が生まれています。

内側には親指で押したような丸い凹凸が連なり、視覚的なリズムと手触りの豊かさを添えています。縁はやさしく立ち上がり、器としての使いやすさと静かな佇まいを両立。

小皿料理や調味料、甘味、杯を並べるトレーとして。また香や装身具、日用品の置き場所としても心地よく使えます。
