Andy Vlock Wood-Fired Cobalt Tall Vase

Hand built by Andy Vlock from tan clay and finished with a flowing cobalt black glaze, this tall wood-fired vase gathers the energy of flame and gravity into its surface. The glaze pools in deep blues and smoky blacks, while flashes of ash lend quiet light to the rim. Both sculptural and functional, it stands beautifully on its own or with tall seasonal branches.

淡い土で手づくりし、コバルト黒釉を掛けて薪窯で焼成したアンディ・ヴロックの背の高い花器。炎と重力が生み出す動きの中で、釉薬が深い青と黒の層をつくり、灰が縁にやわらかな光を添えます。彫刻のような存在感をもち、枝物を生けても、そのままでも美しい作品。
