This wood and salt fired fermenting jar by Brandon Hale blends functional versatility with sculptural presence. Made from dark stoneware clay with a soft shino interior, the vessel breathes through its unglazed outer surface, bearing gentle traces of flame and ash. Its lidded form invites daily use: the lid itself doubles as a small serving bowl—for kimchi, pickled daikon, or whatever seasonal ferment you keep close at hand. A subtle indentation near the base marks the potter’s wheel-thrown rhythm, grounding the piece in the quiet pulse of handmade work.
