Brandon Hale Wood-Fired Shino Guinomi with Iron Brushwork

Brandon Hale shaped these guinomi from a light stoneware clay, brushed them with iron, and glazed them in shino before wood-firing them in an anagama kiln. The result is a series of small vessels alive with gesture and texture—each cup a unique dialogue between the clay, the brush, and the path of the flame.

Each guinomi is slightly different, reflecting the natural variation of wood-firing and the spontaneity of Hale’s brushwork. Expect variation—and beauty.
