Josh Kopin Yunomi – Unglazed Exterior, Shino Interior

This yunomi by Josh Kopin is wheel-thrown from buff stoneware and wood fired. The unglazed exterior reveals the raw surface of the clay, bearing subtle ash deposits and flame markings that give each cup its own quiet topography. Inside, a soft shino glaze offers a smooth contrast—warm, pale, and functional. At 3 inches high and holding about 5 oz, it’s perfect for tea, espresso, or simply holding in the hand.

Josh Kopin による湯のみ。バフ色のストーンウェアを使い、薪窯で焼成されています。外側には釉薬をかけず、炎や灰の影響をそのままに受け止めた素地の表情が美しくあらわれています。内側には淡い志野釉が施され、手ざわりのやさしい対比を生み出しています。高さ約7.5cm、容量約150ml。お茶やエスプレッソ、小さな余白の時間にぴったりの器です。
