Silene DeCiucies Wood-Fired Large Bowl – Kaolin Slip

Handcrafted by Vermont potter Silene DeCiucies, this wood-fired stoneware large bowl is wheel-thrown and finished with a kaolin slip that records the heat and atmosphere of the kiln. During firing, flame and natural ash move across the surface, creating layered tones of soft grey, muted cream, and warm earth, with subtle variations that make each bowl unique. The wide, open form feels generous yet grounded, offering versatility for serving salads, pasta, fruit, or shared dishes, while also standing comfortably as a sculptural presence. Measuring approximately 3” high and 8.75” in diameter, it balances everyday function with the expressive character of wood firing. Food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe.
