Silene DeCiucies Wood-Fired Stoneware Lidded Jar – Kaolin Slip

Handcrafted by Vermont potter Silene DeCiucies, this wood-fired stoneware lidded jar is wheel-thrown and finished with a kaolin slip that responds richly to the kiln’s atmosphere. During firing, flame and natural ash move across the surface, creating layered tones of soft grey, cream, and warm earth, with subtle shifts that make each jar unique. The generous form feels steady and grounded, while the well-fitted lid completes the vessel with a sense of balance and containment. Measuring approximately 7.5” high and 8.5” in diameter, it is well suited for storing dry goods, tea, or treasured objects, and also stands comfortably as a sculptural presence. Food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe.
