Wheel thrown in stoneware and finished with shino glaze, this wood-fired stein by Silene DeCiucies carries the quiet warmth and atmospheric variation characteristic of her kiln work. Soft flashing, subtle ash deposits, and rivulets of glaze move gently across the surface, creating a palette of cream, gray, and warm earth tones.

The form is both sturdy and elegant, with a tall cylindrical body that narrows slightly toward the foot and a generously pulled handle that feels balanced and comfortable in the hand. Fine throwing lines remain visible beneath the glaze, preserving the directness of the making process.
