Silene DeCiucies Wood-Fired Small Serving Plate

Handcrafted by Vermont potter Silene DeCiucies, these wood-fired stoneware small serving plates are wheel-thrown and shaped by the varied conditions of the kiln. While unified in form, they feature three distinct surface treatments—kaolin slip, black laterite slip, and natural feldspar and wood ash—each responding differently to flame, ash, and heat during firing. Subtle shifts in tone and texture emerge across the surfaces, ranging from soft greys and warm creams to deeper earthen reds and darker, smoky hues. The gently elevated form offers a sense of quiet refinement, well suited for serving condiments, sauces, pickles, tea sweets, or small side dishes. Each plate varies slightly, measuring approximately 4–5” in diameter. Food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe.

バーモント州の陶芸家 Silene DeCiucies による薪窯焼成のストーンウェア小皿。ろくろ成形による共通のフォルムを持ちながら、カオリン化粧土、ブラック・ラテライト化粧土、長石と薪灰という三種類の異なる表情が施されています。薪窯の炎や灰、高温の作用によって、それぞれの表面には柔らかな灰色やクリーム色、赤みを帯びた土の色、深みのあるスモーキーな色調など、微妙な変化が現れます。控えめに高台のある器形は、薬味やタレ、漬物、和菓子、小さな副菜などに適しており、食卓に静かなリズムを添えます。サイズには個体差がありますが、直径約10〜13cmです。食器用・電子レンジ対応・食洗機対応。
