Silene DeCiucies Wood-Fired Bud Vase - Kaolin Slip

Handcrafted by Vermont potter Silene DeCiucies, this wood-fired stoneware bud vase is wheel-thrown and finished with a kaolin slip that responds subtly to the heat and atmosphere of the kiln. During firing, flame and natural ash interact with the surface, creating soft layers of grey, cream, and warm earthy tones, with gentle variations from piece to piece. The rounded form feels grounded and quietly expressive, equally at home holding a single stem or standing on its own as a sculptural presence. Each vase varies slightly, but measures approximately 4” high and 4” in diameter. Food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe.

バーモント州の陶芸家 Silene DeCiucies による薪窯焼成のストーンウェア一輪挿し。ろくろ成形の器体にカオリンの化粧土を施し、薪窯の炎と自然に降りかかる灰の作用によって、柔らかな灰色やクリーム色、温かみのある土の表情が現れています。一つ一つに微妙な個体差があり、静かな奥行きと表情を備えています。丸みのあるフォルムは一輪の花を生けるのにも、オブジェとして佇ませるのにも心地よい存在感があります。サイズには多少の違いがありますが、高さ・直径ともに約10cmです。食器用・電子レンジ対応・食洗機対応。
