Juli Kirk Large Serving Platter with Kintsugi Repair

Handbuilt serving platter by Juli Kirk, electric fired, with her characteristic layered surface—terra sigillata beneath washes of glaze and oxide. The composition moves across the plate in shifting fields of dark and light, with areas of exposed clay and smoky depth.

Within this surface, a subtle suggestion of figures emerges—elongated forms standing together, partially revealed and partially obscured, as if held within the material itself.

A kintsugi repair traces across the upper portion of the platter, following the break without emphasis. It reads as part of the surface language—another line among many, marking continuation rather than interruption.

At 12 inches in diameter, the platter has a generous presence while remaining visually fluid. Suitable for serving, or as a piece to live with and return to.

Food safe, microwave safe, dishwasher safe.

手びねりで制作され、電気窯で焼成されたジュリ・カークのサービングプラター。テラ・シジラータの上に釉薬や酸化物を重ねた層が広がり、明暗の移ろいの中に土の表情が現れます。

その表面の中には、人のかたちを思わせるような細長いフォルムがほのかに浮かび上がり、現れては消えるような印象を与えます。

上部には金継ぎによる修復が施されており、強調されることなく、他の線と同じように自然に溶け込んでいます。途切れではなく、連なりとしての痕跡です。

直径約30cmのゆったりとしたサイズで、盛り皿としてはもちろん、日常の中で静かに向き合う器としてもお使いいただけます。
