Juli Kirk Dinner Plate

This hand-finished dinner plate by Juli Kirk brings together drawing, surface, and form in a way that feels both painterly and intimate. Electric fired and layered with terra sigillata, yellow underglaze, and printed black underglaze line work, the plate carries the feeling of a sketchbook page translated into clay.

Soft washes of cream, pale yellow, blush, and charcoal move across the surface in translucent layers, while loose gestural markings and printed textures create rhythm and movement. The gently irregular rim and subtle shifts in contour preserve the immediacy of the handmade process.
