Guy Matsuda Wood-Fired Slip-Brushed Vase

This medium vase by Guy Matsuda combines a quietly rounded form with subtle linear movement created through white slip brushwork and wood firing. Left unglazed, the stoneware surface reveals layered bands of cream, tan, and warm earth tones that wrap gently around the vessel, emphasizing both the turning process and the atmosphere of the kiln. The compact proportions and narrow opening make it especially beautiful for a few stems or branches.

ジョシュ・マツダによる中型の花器。丸みを帯びた静かなフォルムに、白化粧土による刷毛目模様がやわらかな動きを与えています。無釉の石器肌には、薪窯焼成による淡い生成り色や土色の層が現れ、ろくろの回転と炎の流れがそのまま器の景色となっています。ほどよい大きさと引き締まった口元は、草花や枝物をさりげなく生けるのに美しい一点です。
