Andy Vlock Small Bowl - Dolomite and Cobalt

These small bowls by Andy Vlock are shaped by hand, giving each one a softly irregular rim and a character all its own. Made from stoneware and gas fired, they are finished with a layered dolomite glaze accented by flowing cobalt, creating quiet landscapes of misty white, soft gray, and blue that shift from bowl to bowl. The glaze breaks gently over the contours of the form, while the unglazed foot reveals the warmth of the clay beneath. Equally suited for ice cream, fruit, snacks, rice, or small side dishes, these versatile bowls bring a quiet elegance to everyday meals.

Andy Vlockによるこの小鉢は、一つひとつ手仕事で成形され、やわらかく揺らぐ縁がそれぞれに異なる表情を生み出しています。石器土を用い、ガス窯で焼成した後、ドロマイト釉の上にコバルト釉を重ねることで、霞のような白ややわらかな灰色、淡い青が溶け合う、風景を思わせる豊かな景色が生まれました。釉薬は器の起伏に沿って自然に流れ、素地を残した高台が土の温かな質感を引き立てています。アイスクリームや果物、おつまみ、ご飯、小鉢料理など幅広く活躍し、日々の食卓に静かな美しさを添えてくれる器です。
