Peter Dellert Large Curly Maple Wood Tray

Crafted from locally harvested curly maple, this large live edge tray reveals the luminous movement and rippling figure that make curly maple so deeply prized. The surface shifts subtly with the light, bringing forward flowing bands of grain that seem almost woven into the wood itself.

Peter Dellert has worked as a woodworker, cabinetmaker, furniture maker, and sculptor for more than forty years, and that long relationship with material is evident in the restraint and balance of the piece. The tray preserves the natural edge and organic asymmetry of the original board while refining it through careful shaping, hand sanding, and a smooth food-safe oil and wax finish.

Beautiful for tea service, bread, fruit, or as a centerpiece object, the tray carries both utility and quiet presence.

Peter Dellertは40年以上にわたり、木工家、家具職人、彫刻家として活動してきました。その長年の経験は、自然な耳付きの輪郭を活かしながらも、丁寧に整えられた造形と滑らかな手触りに静かに表れています。

一点一点を慎重に成形し、手作業で研磨した後、食品用のオイルとワックスで仕上げられています。茶器やパン、果物のためのトレイとしてはもちろん、空間に置くだけでも美しい存在感があります。
